Jeftec Auto Service Inc. ("Jeftec", "we", "us", or "our") operates the website at https://jeftec.ca and provides automotive repair and maintenance services from #1, 605 Main Ave East, Sundre, Alberta, T0M 1X0, Canada. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

When you contact us through our website forms or book an appointment, we collect:

  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Vehicle information (year, make, model)
  • Service requested and any notes or message you provide
  • Preferred appointment date and time (for bookings)

1.2 Information collected automatically

When you submit a form, our server also records:

  • Your IP address
  • Your approximate geographic location (city, region, country), looked up from your IP address through the public service ip-api.com
  • Your browser type and device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • The date and time of submission
  • A Google reCAPTCHA v3 token used to verify that you are a human visitor

We collect this metadata to help us respond appropriately, prevent spam and abuse, and keep a clear record of inquiries. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.

1.3 Cookies and similar technologies

Jeftec.ca itself does not set first-party tracking cookies. However, third-party services loaded on our pages (see Section 5 below) may set their own cookies, including Google reCAPTCHA, Google Maps, and Google Fonts. You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect site functionality.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide and the metadata we collect for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your inquiries and booking requests
  • To confirm appointments by phone or email
  • To prepare estimates and service records for your vehicle
  • To improve the security of our site (spam prevention, fraud detection)
  • To comply with legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for behavioural advertising.

3. How We Share Your Information

Information you submit through our forms is delivered to:

  • Our shop inbox: jeftecauto@gmail.com — read only by Jeftec staff
  • Our website host's lead-tracking address: leads@clientsnow.co.in — used solely for inquiry delivery and technical troubleshooting by Clients Now Technologies, who maintain this website on our behalf under a confidentiality agreement

We may also share your information when legally required, such as in response to a subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Jeftec, our customers, or others.

4. Data Retention

We keep inquiry and booking information for as long as needed to provide our services and to comply with our record-keeping obligations under Canadian tax and consumer-protection law. When information is no longer required, we delete it or anonymise it.

5. Third-Party Services

Our website loads resources from the following third parties. Each has its own privacy policy:

  • Google reCAPTCHA v3 — spam protection on our forms. Subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • Google Maps — embedded map on our Contact and Promotions pages.
  • Google Fonts — typography (Montserrat, Open Sans). Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • jsDelivr CDN — Bootstrap and small utility scripts.
  • ip-api.com — used server-side to convert your IP to an approximate city/region for our records.

6. Your Rights Under PIPEDA and PIPA

As an individual in Canada — and especially in Alberta — you have the right to:

7. Children's Privacy

Our services and website are intended for adults aged 18 and over (typically vehicle owners and drivers). We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

We use industry-standard precautions to protect the information you share with us:

  • The website is served over HTTPS (TLS encryption)
  • Form submissions are protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3 and a server-side honeypot/time-trap
  • Inbox access is limited to Jeftec staff and the website maintainer

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Transfers

The information you submit is processed and stored in Canada and India (our email host and the website maintainer's lead-tracking address). By using our website you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will post a notice on this page for at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
